These Writing Ladders for Nursery, Reception and Year One are a staple in my Mark Making area’s to support staff with knowing children’s next steps and ensuring that they know the progression of writing for children’s development. Many times we get children to write words and sentences before they have grasped the basic’s of writing single letter’s, familiar words such as their name and short words/phrases.
